Jacob is one of our respected and valued Team Leaders at our Forrestfield branch who started out in our Apprenticeship program. From a young age, Jacob enjoyed the challenge of fixing things. Growing up on a vineyard, he was always tinkering in the shed with his old man. For Jacob, a hands on role where he was able to problem-solve was always top of mind, which is where he ventured in to starting his career – in the Apprenticeship program at Truck Centre WA!
Jacob came on board initially completing his Auto-Electrician trade certification, and in addition was spotted as an emerging talent and was successful in securing a dual-trade apprenticeship, adding a Heavy Diesel Mechanic certification to his skillset shortly after. Through his role, he has had the opportunity to travel throughout WA as a breakdown technician, and has since been promoted to a Team Leader at our Forrestfield branch.
“The apprenticeship program was a great start for me. It’s very hands on, and I found the learning to be interesting and challenging. Truck Centre WA is an ideal space to learn because we have a large, varied customer base and the role is fast paced. I work on leading global brands, have had fantastic travel opportunities for my job and have been rewarded well, including incentive trips to some great places including Christmas Island and Queensland! My recommendation to any apprentice looking for the right company, is to choose a company that will give you the best exposure to learn!”
